James is an associate whose practices predominately in Claimant’s Worker’s Compensation. A Central Florida native, James earned his Juris Doctorate from Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia. James attended the University of Central Florida where he earned a Bachelor’s in Marketing and a minor in Sports Business Management .

While at Mercer Law, he interned at the Houston County Public Defender’s Office. James zealously advocated on behalf of indigent clients who were committed crimes. James won a prestigious Book Award for earning the highest grade in his Torts Law Seminar class.

James is a member of the Florida Bar, Orange County Bar, a member of Judge Wieland American Inn of Court, and a member of the Florida Workers’ Advocates. While not practicing law, James enjoys chasing waves to surf and traveling to new places.

 

History and Background

James was born and raised in the Orlando, FL area, after attending the University of Central Florida he headed North to Macon, GA to attend Law School at the prestigious Mercer University.
Upon graduating from Mercer University then a small stent in Houston, TX James was ready to return home to the Central Florida area.  With multiple options available to him, James choose to work directly with his father to help the victims in the area of Worker’s Compensation.  James considers his father as an expert in the area of Worker’s Compensation and therefore making the decision to join the Law Office of Dennis Dean Smejkal was an easy one to make.
When James isn’t practicing law and helping victims throughout Central Florida, you can find him on his surfboard enjoying the waves as an avid Surfer.  And if you look close enough you just may see his father on the surfboard next to him.
